The debate on revenue sharing is again being turned into the Kikuyu vs Kenyans. You see Billow Kerow writing on behalf of the Somali on how Kikuyu have always benefited at the expense of Kenyans. Then he concludes by whipping emotions of let all Kenyans join him to fight the Mt. Kenya.

Then we see the Kikuyu respond via Mutahi Ngunyi on how a man with three wives cannot divide food equally to them without concidering the number of children each has. Unfortunately the rest of Kenya including my Luhyia people want to jump into the debate full of emotions to support the under dog from northern Kenya.
I am advocating for a change of tact by Luhyia Nation this time. Is it possible that we also take our own selfish position in this debate that will favour us. A position that will favour revival of our sugar industry, our forests, our maize farms, our Kenya Uganda Border exit and entry points and OUR GOLD DEPOSITS? I am calling this, the Luhyia Renaissance.
*REVENUE SHARING BILL IS ABOUT POLITICS OF 2022*
We cannot run away from the fact that hidden politics are at play in the whole debate. Politics of 2022. We as the Luhyia have a candidate. That means we cannot just be bystanders or spectators who can only offer support and solidarity to the Kenya Somali who feel aggreived. We must take a stand. Our stand.
What is our position as Luhyia, as ANC, as FORD KENYA on the debate?
Or are we going to ride on how the Somali are fighting the Kikuyu and the Luo on the one man one shilling debate? Were we born to just be supporters of others?
Truth remains that we the Luhyia have similar interests like the Kikuyu and Luo on this debate. We have large populations. We have fertile lands. We are human resources. We are agriculturalists. We have similar traits including the passion to lead Kenya. Our governor esp in Kakamega has offered better leadership than those from Somali northern Kenya who despite getting more billions than us in the previous arrangements have nothing to show in terms of development for their regions.
For many years, we the Luhyia have supported Marxists ideologies of Equality, socialism,, ujamaa, solidarity with others etc. But in the process those who propagate these ideals and we follow them, alwaysend up using us and moving on without us. The politics of Raila or the late Jaramogi were about solidarity, about them… vs us. The Kikuyu vs the other 41 tribes of Kenya. But it has always failed. Let’s call a spade a spade osiepa. Let us join this debate not in support of others, BUT IN SUPPORT OF OUR INTERESTS as the Luhyia.
