On various social media platforms, we are seeing people from western kenya posting pictures and testimonies of items and processes of Okhwikhamisia as a way of reducing the Covid pain. Even doctors who are helping those infected under the home based care are encouraging Okhwikhamisia.

DISCLAIMER: It is however important to note that World Health Organisation (WHO) does not recommend any remedy to prevent or treat the novel coronavirus infection. The WHO specifically points out, “To date, there is no specific medicine recommended to prevent or treat the new coronavirus.

But interestingly, the People of Mulelmbe say this corona is a form of homa that ben with our people since the 18th century. It was known as Omuyaka Omukali. To deal with it, they came up with Okhwikhamisia.

This is a method of boiling ALO VERA, special leaves, with some vicks or rob. Then you put the steaming liquid in a container and wrapping yourself around the container and inhale the steams. You can add salt, orange peelings and a tot of whisky or changaa to add taste. The Luhyia say it helps in a big way to mitigate all types of homa including Covid-19. Facebook user in the USA known as  “Linwod Walker” who once taught at Eshibinga primary in Khwisero as a volunteer in the year 2012 recently posted a photo of himself trying out OKHWIKHAMISIA. He is seen steaming the hot mixture and inhaling the streams. He later claimed he was healed and has been using the remedy on those around him back home in the USA who are infected by corona.

So you can try it. Just Inhale the steam for 15mins and cover yourself. Try and take a long rest. And see how Okhwikhamisia will work.

Accept that Corona is here with us. We have to learn to live with it, the way we learnt how to live with HIV and AIDS. Follow the protocols, keep safe, go for testing, listen to the doctor and try out some of these remedies like Okhikhamisia.
