KUPPET NATIONAL TREASURER WICKS NJENGA HAS FULLY RECOVERED AT THE AGHA KHAN HOSPITAL AFTER CONTRACTING COVID 19

#ByAmunga

Mr. Njenga has fully recovered and ready to serve teachers.

In a statement by the KUPPET national Secretary Mr. Akello Misori, their National treasurer Mr Wicks Njenga has been sick and admitted at the Agha Khan after contractting covid 19. The matter only came to fore after Wicks recovered but the bill came to 3.8 million which the insurance which covers KUPPET fulltime employees and NHIF refused to foot the bill.

Apparently, Njenga had been under a two-week treatment at the Aga Khan hospital in Nairobi and upon discharge, the bills had accumulated to Sh3.8 million. Thus, the union alludes that the insurance companies ignored their mandate.β€œ

Help for Wicks came in from all directions apart from his medical insurance company. NHIF also refused to pay its required share of Sh68,000 for BED. IT was thus left to his own family and friends to raise the money. Akelo Misori says that their medical insurer abandoned wicks Njenga when he needed it most,”.

The union further indicated that it intends to liaise with other trade unions to hold insurance companies accountable for what they term as neglect amid the pandemic.

CONCLUSION

We wish to let teachers know that both KUPPET and KNUT national officials are not covered by THE TSC MINET MEDICAL COVER. The union staff have their own private schemes. For KNUT OFFICIALS their scheme became absolute after they failed to remit monthly premiums. KNUT live by the grace of God. For Kuppet, their cover which is NOT AON Minet does not cover Covid. MINET and MAKL who administer the teachers cover have given clear guidelines on what should happen incase a teacher falls sick from COVID.

For now,we wish our national treasurer in Kuppet MR. NHENGA QUICK RECOVERY.
