CONFIRMED AND AUTHENTIC: TSC HAS NOT GAZETTED OR DEGAZETTED HARDSHIP AREARS,TREAT SUCH NEWS AS FAKE.
By Gen. Agoi
The news that Teachers Service Commission has degazetted certain hardship areas is not only fake but farfetched meant to create a wedge and confusion among teachers.
Hardship allowance is one of the type of REMUNERATION falling directly under the mandate of SRC. It is this institution which has the Constitutional mandate to Gazette New Hardship Areas or Degazette the existing ones depending on a thorough Survey and Evaluation.
Before SRC was created,it was the Parliament which was tasked with role under the old constitution. Under the new Constitution SRC is the sole institution mandated by law to determine these areas.
NO CIRCULAR ON NEW HARDSHIP AREAS.
By the time of going to press, the SRC had not issued any circular to government departments creating or doing away with hardship areas. It is therefore wrong for JAMBO NEWS Editors and their bloggers like Njuguna Muiruri to drag TSC into a matter it has no say at all. Teachers should stop reading articles from these sources of fake news.
CASE OF MUHORONI TEACHERS’ HARDSHIP.
Some teachers from Muhoroni have complained about missing hardship allowance from their payslips. A good example is teachers of Kibos. The matter has been highlighted but the affected teachers need to make an official complaint to the TSC so that it is addressed. Muhoroni is still gazetted as Hardship area and the teachers should continue receiving the allowance as per their job groups.
CONCLUSION
Teachers are advised to ignore the fake news and concentrate on what is important to all of us and the nation at large.
Meanwhile, tomorrow the week marks the first week of serious CBL. Let us engage our children in the training for this is the way to go.
