PL. Musalia Mudavadi has sent his condolences to family, friends and Christians after the DEPARTURE of their Archbishop BYRUM.
Archbishop Dr. BYRUM Makokha has been LEADING over one million faithfuls who are members of the Kima based Church of God. The church with Hqs next with the compound of Bunyore girls in Vihiga, is the mentor of many educated leaders from Western Kenya, having nurtured them through its many schools including Bunyore Girls, Mwihila Boys, Ingothe high, Eshibinga secondary etc.
Upon confirming the news of the departure I took time to brief H.E. Mudavadi. He was so shocked. He asked me for telephone numbers of the immediate Family Members and his deputy RIGHT REV. James Obunde.
Mudavadi has mourned the late Archbishop (Dr)Byrum Makoha, and the pioneer of Church of God in East Africa as truly a Spiritual icon who touched many lives. He said his prayers are with the family, relatives, friends and the Christian fraternity.
We have also taken time to inform other leaders including H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Samoe Ruto. COTU SG Francis Atwoli whose first born daughter, Rev Angeline Atwoli is a pastor at the Mariakani Church of God has also been briefed.
ARCHBISHOP leaves behind a strong family. Several of his children well educated are PHD holders leaders across the globe. Just last year April, ArchBishop wrote his Biography where he states all that God has used him to accomplish. He launched the book this year April. It is as if the man of God had a premonition of what was ahead. The few close family, friends and church leaders who saw him during his last days talk of a man who was ready to face his LORD and saviour Jesus Christ. Over Christmas he invited me to his home in Kima. He was so relaxed. So polished. So focussed. He reminded us of the vanity that is life. But what moved us is how he wanted his vision of the CHURCH never to fade.
BISHOP. A crown is set for you in heaven. Take your place. You have fought the good fight of faith. You have run the race. We pray to join you shortly.
