DP Ruto has joined the ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi in mourning the depature of Archbishop Byrum. We take time to thank our Deputy President William Samoe Ruto and all other leaders for mourning with the family, friends and the Church of God In east Africa upon the DEPARTURE of Archbishop Byrum Makokha.
DP said in a tweet and I quote; Archbishop and founder of the Church of God of East Africa Byrum Makokha was a gentle and warm spiritual leader who rendered distinctive support to the weak in the society.
I noticed how heartbroken and grieved the DP was when we broke the news of the loss of Archbishop Byrum to him.
Byrum Makokha not only mentored us, he blessed us. He gave us direction, he secured worship shrines for all of us across Kenya. Church of God has footprints in Kisii, branches in Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru kericho , Dares slam, Kampala and ROOTS in Western Kenya.
The CS for Devolution mourned Byrum saying My heartfelt condolences to the family & the membership of the Church of God in East Africa, following the death of ArchBishop Byrum Makokha. I extend my sympathy most especially to the family& pray for peace&comfort at this difficult time. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
Thank you so much our senior and CS for Devolution
@EugeneLWamalwa for consoling us. I recall how you had desired to be with Archbishop Byrum last year December during the Church Of God EA Music Festivals at Kima. But you sent us with your apologies and love #RipArchBishopByrum
But still, Archbishop Makokha managed to grow his church into a powerful institution, especially in western Kenya.
Tuesday, Kakamega Governor Wcliff Oparanya, speaking while mourning the church leader, said the bishop’s death should unite the members.
Family members said Archbishop Byrum Makokha died on Tuesday morning after battling multiple illnesses at the Agha Khan hospital in Kisumu where he had been admitted.
His wife Grace said he had earlier been diagnosed with high blood pressure, muscle inflammation and Tuberculosis.
He also had water in his lungs.
FARE THEE WELL Archbishop.
