Covid has hit close to Migori teachers. Those who thought Covid was a foreign tongue are coming to terms with death of principal Mathar Ouma of Oyugi Ogango school this morning.
Official information indicate that principal Martha got sick last week on Tuesday. She tested positive for covid. This after flu, lack of appetite, feaver, high temperature etc engulfed her.
She had spent all her time in school meeting teachers, learners etc. He contact persons list is long.
The education office plus TSC county director was notified of her condition and they approved her absence from school. MINET the teachers insurer took over and evacuated her to Nightingale hospital in Kisumu.
Martha remained in hospital from Wednesday last week until this morning. She kept communicating with her friends, and updating them of her condition. She was put in the ICU over the weekend and on a ventilator. All these time, her friends and family could only pray for her since she was isolated.
We wish to confess that Madam Martha was a strong lady. A principled principal, a lovely woman. Indeed we have lost a woman of honour. This corona.. Haki ya Mungu..
We believe many other teachers in Oyugi Ongango are either infected or affected. We urge them to close the school and go for testing now. Do not waste time.
Huyu Magoha. Mungu anamwona tu. He is simply killing us. Kufungua shule before preparation or safety of teachers and learners was a mistake.
Rest in peace Madam of excellence. Madam of Migori. Jaber.
