Frantic parents calling this writer, claim that many schools are keeping learners incommunicado in the name of isolating them after testing them and finding them to be positive. This is done behind the backs of parents. It is ILLEGAL.
Sources indicate that around 20 students at Maranda high school in Bondo are isolated and parents are NOT BEING MADE AWARE
One parent claims she talked to the school nurse who confided that the school is treating corona by isolating learners. Principals are doing this under strict orders by Ministry officials who do not want any panic from parents or media.
Speaking on a national platform, Amunga an Education advocate has called the bluff that is Ministry of Education saying, keeping children in boarding school isolation centers without parental consent is illegal.
Other schools reported to be keeping learners incommunicado in schools include Mukumu girls, Kabarnet boys, Chebiemit, St. Peters Mumias, KABARAK HIGH etc. There are many other schools where children have been confined. Media is not being made aware, parents are not told, so as to please those in government by making them believe that all is well in schools. TRUTH IS… ALL IS NOT WELL.
A learner who fell sick of covid 19 at Mukumu girls was taken to a ward at Mukumu hospital. The learner later sneaked out of the hospital before full treatment back to school and later sent home.
The death of learners and teachers in schools due to covid 19 is because of poor preparation by Ministry of Education before they reopened schools.
Amunga says when children start dying in schools due to covid… NOTE.. the word is WHEN not IF…. enlightened parents will go to court and seek compensation from schools. Principals, prepare to fork out huge sums of money as compensation.
“When you take your child to school, the child is well and not sick. But due to negligence by Ministry of education and schools in ensuring covid 19 protocols and your child dies.. YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT AS A PARENT TO SUE.
A ruling is in place. A principal of a school in Siaya was sentenced and dismissed from duty by a court because a learner jumped into a well in the school and died. Principal was sued for damages and negligence.
WARNING
Let teachers and principals know. They are walking a tight rope and a dangerous one by keeping people’s children in boarding schools and isolating them from others after infection. Let ministry officers make you participate in illegalities. Release sick children. Close schools. Inform parents. DO NOT BE AN ACCOMPLICE TO CRIMES OF MAGOHA.
