Kenya’s Senate is the only one in the world, which isn’t the upper house.
If you thought that the 2O13-2O17 Senate was bad, think about it,the 2O17- date is more worse.
Looking at the impeachments so far done.
Waititu,Waiguru,Kindiki, Sonko, they all lead to one conclusion…. Kindiki is good at his work, but a decision was made elsewhere & we have to implement it.
I don’t know about you, but to me, they are more of supper MCAs.
Actually, in the cases so far, MCAs have done a more detailed investigation than the so called Senators.
Those who know what happened in the 6Os,will tell you that the then Senators played a leading role in it’s abolition.
The only question they asked was about their redundance.
Which was cured by creating seats for them.

Let’s study 3.
Waititu,Waiguru and Sonko.
Sure, even before any of the 3 declared their candidacy, we all knew their past.
Waititu ( my primary schoolmate, Mbagathi) was known for stone throwing, can’t recall any landmark motion to his name.
Waiguru was known for an expensive salonist.
Sonko,the worst.
Yet they were elected.
At one time, in Bomas, there was a debate on the role of Provincial/County Governors.
Were we to have guys like the South African Provincial Premiers,or the Colonial Governors?
B4 independence, Kenya was a Province of Britain, hence the CPK. The Governor wore uniforms like a Provincial Commissioner.
The idea of a Governor being an administrator,is good, but will make the Presidency more powerful, & that is bad.
We should have mini Presidents.
With the superb investigative and prosecutorial performance by MCAs,we shouldn’t have re impeachment by the Senate.
If they can’t be an upper house, then disband it.
