Data availed to me shows that TSC is saving 6 billion annually that was meant for automatic promotion of teachers as per the CBA.  Promotions is a big scam that will haunt TSC forever. Promotions touch on lives. It touches on families. But with CPG and with the current advert show here below, it is clear that it is meant for those already in positions.

It is very true, as one writer has noted. That Primary school classroom teachers don’t qualify to apply for 13,000 promotion slots thanks to Career progression guidelines.

Primary classroom teachers have been waiting with bated breath to apply for competitive promotion. Yesterday, TSC advertised for more than 13,000 vacancies meant to promote teachers to higher grades. The advert is doing the round since yesterday.

In one of the most heart breaking news, none of primary classroom teachers is worth the luxurious advert. This means that they will keep salivating for unknown period of time. The advert is a seal to what teachers feared most- administrators take it all.

Primary classroom teachers with degrees and masters have been dealt a big blow again. A close look at the advert shows one must be at grade C3 or above to apply. One must have served at current grade for at least three years. Therefore, classroom teachers who were converted to C1 in July 2020 will qualify to apply for C2 in July 2023.

This issue of promotions is bigger than the war between KNUT and TSC. It touches on the profession especially for those who are in class.  I can say that over 70% of high school teachers who are still in class will never rise to any promotion.
