#Covid19 HAS CHANGED THE WAY OF DOING THINGS. TEACHERS MUST ADAPT TO THESE CHANGES SO AS TO AVOID WHAT TOOK PLACE AT KISII HIGH SCHOOL

By Peter Amunga.

Covid has brought about the new normal way of doing things. We as teachers must change our teaching/learning methodology and we will enjoy our work as teachers.

Problem with our teachers is that the methodology they use to teach backfires on them badly.

Even animals, when handled with creativity, will not turn wild. These kids we teach are dynamic. They are fast changing. Covid has changed them. We must change.

Some of us still have that colonial mentally we got in colleges that made us arrogant and cruel to learners. These tactics no longer work. They do not make a post covid child to learn anything.

I have said here several times that a teacher who is not creative enough in their own work will always complain. Those are students, humans, kids. You are the teacher trained to teach them.

Unfortunately, majority of us have failed to realise that creativity and politenes are major requirements whenever you handle students. This is the reason most teachers complain forever even after retirement. If you cannot apply creativity, kindly get a way to update your skills. Online courses are available.

WE KNOW of Yego the javelin olympic champion. He knew nothing about kutupa mkuki. But he used YOUTUBE and online courses to make himself a champion in his field.

Teachers.. there is an opening coming our way. #SomaNaBonga.
