THE SLAVES WHO TOIL FOR CITIZEN TV, RADIO ETC CRY OUT FOR HELP

By Amunga Peter

A disturbing letter has emerged. Written by a staffer at the famed Royal Media services owned by SK Macharia that entails the Citizen TV and 14 radio STATIONS.

The short and long of the letter is that what is happening at Royal media is both physical slavery and sex slavery.

The writer says, promotion, salary cuts, sackings et at CITIZEN depends on who slept with who, and who refused to sleep with who.

In the letter that has gone viral, the staffer talks of how the directors plus a select top news anchors and rado hosts earn close to a million a month, while the real guys… Camera men, video editors, sound technicians and majority reporters and presenters earn what I pay my maid or less.

That when covid 19 struck RMS reduced salary of all staff by 20%, and 11 months later, and despite govt stopping the tax waivers, staff are still being deducted.

Deduction of 20% of salary from Jeff Koinange who earns 800,000 a month is nothing, but to a reporter who earns 15,000, it is death.

All that glitters is not Gold. Royal media has specialized in PR GAMES and trying to paint a picture of perfection. But behind the weaves, short dresses, the lights, the sounds…. is a sad STORY of slavery, abuse, hate and death.

It is time, to mobilise Kenyans to boycott the products of Royal media services.
