Forget that NONSENSE from Ruto and Raila about forming National POLITICAL PARTIES. There is nothing like national when a person from a certain region takes power. He or she immediately retreats to his roots and hands jobs, tenders, opportunities etc to his people. Raila has done it. Ruto has done it. And thus we support that the coastal region must have its own formation.
The meeting this week between President Uhuru Kenyatta and three coastal governors was one way of him showing SUPPORT for the One Kenya Alliance position of having regional leaders who sit at a table and bargain for their regions on the National table.
That is what BBI is all about.
Joho did not reveal what they discussed with the President. State House has also not issued a statement over the same. According to blogger Dennis Itumbi, the President and his men are working to block Raila from his traditional support bases in Western Kenya and the coast region. That the government was behind the recent by-elections in Matungu and Kabuchai where ANC and Ford Kenya carried the day. We careless what Itumbi thinks. What we want is power distribution.
Truth is, Raila has lost the Luhya voting block. Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula are now in charge.
The same has happened in Machakos where Wiper’s Agnes Kavindu won the Senatorial by-elections last week.
The Kamba community has to be united behind one kingpin, Kalonzo Musyoka.
Wednesday’s meeting with coastal governors comes at a time the region has been crying for a local party. More importantly, Uhuru reunited the three Governors who have been pulling in different directions. Is the President behind the push for a coastal political party.
We support UHURU KENYATTA for this move.
