The teacher identified as Mr Henry Wanja Aura was arrested on Friday evening after an altercation with the wife who later reported to police.
He had a scuffle with the wife. The mother to mwalimu reported as follows. I was in my house and only heard his wife shouting. Nobody was willing to share what had ensued so I took it as a normal family difference,” said Mrs Aura

The wife later reported an assault case and police officers apprehended him, only to be found dead at the police cells.

She has since fled the home after learning of the death.

Mama said she realized that her son was dead when she took him food on Saturday morning.

“I brought him breakfast but the officer on duty was reluctant to allow me see him. I became suspicious and called his other brothers, that’s when we were told had died. The officer said he had hanged himself the previous night using a shirt, the mother said.

Angry residents jammed the police post demanding to be told exactly what happened, with majority reading mischief from the officers.

Led by Mr Pappine Odongo , the residents accused the police officers of constantly using excessive force when handling suspects, noting that the death might have occurred from torture in the hands of police officers.

We ask KNUT and KUPPET TO INVESTIGATE that the primary school teacher died on Saturday morning after alleged tortured by law enforcers while in police custody.
