Whoever says that politics is a dirty game in Kenya has not met former Deputy Speaker, Hon. Farah M Mohamed. Farah Maalim Mohamed is a Kenyan politician who served under speaker Marende in the vibrant parliament in the nusu mkate era.
Maalim is not only the first opposition MP from Northern Kenya in the Kanu era, but also the first Deputy Speaker from the region.
Initially, FARAH M MOHAMMED started of a civil and political activist. Mr. Maalim was alongside with James Orengo, Jaramogi Odinga, Raila Odinga, Dalmas Otieno, Martin Shikuku, Kijana Wamalwa and Paul Muite and was part of KENYAN second liberation heros who brought about the Multiparty birth.
When he first came to parliament he came as a Member of parliament for Lagdera in Garissa. His achievements as an MP cannot be measured by words. He has done alot for the entire muslim world in Kenya and particularly for the Somali people in Kenya.
While still at the University Maalim is a prolific student leader who was courageous and ambitious. Farah is a moderate, loyal and sincere person that you can encounter in KENYAN Politics weather as an MP or as a civilian!
With the departure of YUSUF HAJI, the Northern Kenya lack a serious voice on the National table. FARAH is one such a leader that will inherit the mantle. He is well able to sit on any national platform to represent the interests of northern Kenya and the Somali ethnicity. With over 30 years of experience on the Kenyan political scene, with no scandal directed towards him, Maalimu is the person Kenya needs.
