The ANC party leader was on Wednesday Morning the 21st April 2021 on the Kisii language FM station, EGESSA FM.
The party leader has said he has great respect for the Kisii people. He thanked them for having an ANC GOVERNOR in Nyamira. The current Nyamira governor Amos Nyaribo is an ANC Party member who came to power after the former governor passed on due to covid 19. Musalia covered all issues affecting the country including the economy, the mushrooming wage bill, the IMF structural adjustment programmes and the one Kenya Alliance.But of interest to the radio host, one Lawrence Nyakundi was for Musalia to explain if his party and his personal take about the Abagusi community.
Mudavadi was categorical, that his party has strong networks in Kisii. He specifically mentioned the National Youth leader and spokesman in ANC Nathaniel Mo’ngare. He termed Mon’gare as a fiearlessly loyal, dedicated soldier of ANC in Kisii. He dismissed talks of ANC being made up of Luyha people, mentioning the governor in Nyamira and the MP for Matuga in Kwale, the Hon Kassim Tandaza among others.
Musalia said, the Kisii region has great talent. A talented people who know how to work hard. He said such a community needs to back a presidential candidate who will ensure the economy is growing and stable so as to reward their talents and hard work. Mudavadi named the great leaders and talents from the Abagusi, including sportsmen, like Motego, sprinter Nyaribo, Hellen Obiri and the trending Embarambara. He mentioned leaders like the Late Nyachae, Onyancha, the late George Anyona among others.
Musalia mentioned, the economic activities that can make Kisii great again if proper policies are in place. The tea industry and foreign remittances from Abagusi living in Diaspora. Mudavadi said Kisii land has been the greatest tea growing zone. His party ANC moto is Uchumi Bora which when it tales leadership in 2022 God willing, will put policies and structures to encourage investments from those living abroad and protection of tea from cartels and middlemen.
In the current wrangles in the Nyamira county where several MCAs are opposing the ANC governor, Mudavadi termed it as 2022 succession politics. He said he talks to the governor and he is working closely with him to solve the issues affecting the people of Nyamira.
