The mountain is angry. From the headlines, the string of Jubilee party loses in various bi ELECTIONS in the region and the bad economy is fodder enough to prove that the Kikuyu nation is angry.
Listening to the residents of Mt Kenya on FM stations one realizes that the anger is turning into a rebellion. The Kikuyu feel, that the continued association of Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga and handshake has not bore fruits. To show their disatisfaction, they are rebelling by voting in Ruto allied persons.
This is what makes me think that if a solution is not found so fast … UHURU may lose grip of the mountain. That solution is UHURU giving his people an alternative to Raila Odinga to face Ruto. To many POLITICAL minds, that person is Musalia Mudavadi.
Mudavadi has acknowledged that Mt Kenya region plays a pivotal role in determining who becomes the President of this country basing on their political influence and numbers. This he spoke at the latest meeting he had that took place in Maragua, Nyeri county and brought on board former Members of Parliament led by former Gachoka Legislator Mutava Musyimi, former ministers Esther Mirugi, Humphrey Karanja, John Kihagi, Kamande Mwangi, Stephen Ngare among others.
“Mt Kenya regional is so pivotal and it is an axis you cannot ignore if you want the leadership of this country,” says Mudavadi.
“The Numbers and the politics of Mt Kenya region voters means that they take a very keen eye on what is going on and the input, role and blessings from this region become very critical for this cause,” admits Mudavadi.
Mudavadi who has already declared his interest in the top seat was in Maragua Constituency of Murang’a County this weekend of May 23, 2021 just a week after he met key leaders who included Cabinet Secretaries, Governors, and Members of Parliament drawn from the Mt Kenya region
The ANC leader has also pointed out the growing impatience amongst the young people who consist of more than 60% of our population and they are the voters who will highly determine the outcome of the 2022 general election.
The One Kenya Alliance co-principal on the other hand was accompanied by Senators Johnson Sakaja and Cleophas Malalah, Kassim Tandaza of Matuga, ANC Party Chairman Kelvin Lunani and ANC Party luminaries Mclean Iganza Sloya who is eyeing the Sabatia Seat, David Wamatsi who is eyeing the Mumias West Seat and Simon Gikuru an ANC Party life member.
