THE STANDARD HEADLINE ON TEACHERS PAY BOOM IS PROPAGANDA.

By Amunga.

The headline is very attractive. The story is shallow, devoid of facts and gives no evidence in form of an official circular proving that teachers will get salary boom.

The editors at the standard are on two missions. One to make money by lying to gullible teachers who will quickly buy the paper and two, they are out to prove that the current KNUT SG is overworking for teachers. (If your check the names of the sg and the writer of the story.. you realize the names betray them. They are from one village and tribe)

Here is the truth.

Look at the choice of words and make a personal conclusion.

Long suffering teachers who hang on a sinking union to get between 192k and 360k in backdated deal.

It is NOT about the new CBA.

IT IS NOT ABOUT MONEY FOR TEACHERS.

IT IS ABOUT the state… Read govt unlocking money that it had unlawfully denied teachers and KNUT because of the hard stand KNUT had taken on issues of promotions, TPADs, and CPG

It is about some 11k teachers who are still members of KNUT (out of the 360,000 teachers) who paid the price by being sacrificed in the in the war of TSC vs Sossion. They missed out on promotions and phase 3 and four of the CBA that expired last month.

But now TSC has outwitted the unions, has compromised the new officials and armtwisted Oyuu and team to pull out all court cases and all the orders that the courts gave concerning fair play in the service.

For doing this little errand, the new kid on the block bwana Oyuu has been rewarded with what our githeri media now hypes as A pay BOOM for teachers.

CONCLUSION

Gazeti ni ya kufunga nyama. The headline should have read, KNUT is now IN BED with Govt and teachers are on their own.

Oyuu has agreed to do bussines with the state at the expense of teachers. He has been rewarded by unlocking millions from the state by being compromised to sign the MATERNITY LEAVE CBA.

Teachers can no cry in the toilet as unions go to bed with TSC.
